  In this cooking series, Alamelu Vairavan will take you on an exciting and informative culinary journey in which you will discover ways to prepare a range of healthful and flavorful foods found in Indian cuisine. Alamelu will introduce you to many aromatic spices and healthful legumes. She will present easy- to- follow techniques for preparing vegetarian and non-vegetarian foods which feature these unique ingredients.

Alamelu Vairavan is a culinary educator and a cookbook author who has co-authored three cookbooks including her most recent book, “Healthy South Indian Cooking: Expanded Edition” (Hippocrene Books, NY , October 2008). Alamelu has been featured extensively in national TV, radio and print media. In April 2009, she presented a sold-out workshop titled, “Enticing Indian Flavors” at the James Beard Foundation, Manhattan, NY.
